Any man who divorces his wife and marries another woman is guilty of adultery. And the man who marries a divorced woman is also guilty of adultery.” Luke 16:18 ERV

http://bible.com/406/luk.16.18.ERV

Divorce and remarriage has become a common feature in our changing world. Our text reveals God’s mind on this.

Beloved, though we live in a changing world with changing morals and values, we however have an Unchanging God whose standard is unchanging. Our text is very clear and plain: Whoever remarries while the spouse is still alive is an adulterer living in sin! Whoever preaches or practices anything different is really insignificant. Every sinner who dies in sin is by choice doomed eternally. Don’t be deceived by the increasing number of pastors and preachers preaching and practicing divorce and remarriage. While divorce or separation is no sin, they come with a very high price, but adultery will always be. The truth must be told: better remain single than separated, better remain separated than divorced and better remain divorced than remarried!

PRAYERS: Oh Lord, I receive the grace to change the things I can and to live with things I can’t change. I’ll pay whatever price possible to please You in Jesus name.

Steadfast love and faithfulness meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other. Psalms 85:10 ESV

http://bible.com/59/psa.85.10.ESV

A kiss is an outward expression of attraction, affection, intimacy and oneness between two persons. Our text reveals the kiss of righteousness and peace.

Beloved, the kiss of righteousness and peace spells inseparability. This inseparability doesn’t mean they didn’t face forces of separation but they deliberately chose to remain one. Righteousness in God’s sight, automatically qualifies you for peace and prosperity. If you’ve peace and prosperity, you’ve got everything you’ll ever need in life, hence you’ll lack nothing good! Without the meeting of grace and truth [a personal understanding and appreciation of God’s love], there cannot be the kiss of righteousness and peace, neither can prosperity be experienced. Ever looking for an all round prosperity, then personally appreciate and embrace God’s love; it’ll clothe you with His righteousness!

PRAYERS: Lord, I choose never to cease loving You and my spouse at all cost. As I do, I decree and declare peace and prosperity shall continually be my portion in Jesus name!

I hold back my feet from every evil way, in order to keep your Word. Psalms 119:101 ESV

http://bible.com/59/psa.119.101.ESV

Choices can either be very easy or difficult. Our text reveals the lure of very easy choice and it’s antidote!

Beloved, life will always offer you it’s very alluring easy ways, which are always intricately interwoven with very difficult ways. Naturally, your choice will always be the easy way out which leads to death, destruction and ruin, but unfortunately hardly discovered at the outset. It takes self discipline, which is a product of deep and passionate love for, and pondering on the Word, to be able to restrain yourself from going for the very easy way out, when the very difficult one is the right choice! You must make up your mind to obey the Word forever, no matter what, instead of following a way that’s very alluring and appealing but leads to trouble, death and destruction!

PRAYERS: Lord God, may I always deeply love, think on, never forget and obey your Word no matter the cost. As I never turn my back on your teachings but make it my most prized possession and source of joy, may I experience Your promised salvation in Jesus name!

But he will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of evil!’ Luke 13:27 ESV

http://bible.com/59/luk.13.27.ESV

“Depart from me” is a verdict of finality and separation. Our text reveals this will be the verdict for many.

Beloved, many who ate and drank with Jesus, revelled in His presence, followed Him, were taught by Him, and worked for Him, but couldn’t enter through the narrow door, will hear this irreversible pronouncement and verdict. The door will be shut against them at the appointed time because they are evildoers, workers of iniquity, sinful and strangers to the Lord! Notice though they were taught by Him, dinned and wined with Him, their disobedience and refusal to enter through the narrow door turned them into strangers! Jesus cannot identify with sin and sinfulness, therefore sinners who refuse His offer, will always remain strangers to Him and shut out!

PRAYERS: Lord, I refuse to remain a sinner and stranger to you and be shut out. I accept your invitation and enter through the narrow door in Jesus name.

The Lord above is mighty— mightier than the sound of raging water, mightier than the foaming waves of the sea. Psalms 93:4 GW

http://bible.com/70/psa.93.4.GW

The raging water and the foaming waves of the flood is so powerful that it unsettles everything on its way. Our text reveals the Lord is mightier and irresistibly more powerful.

Beloved, the flood depicting the enemy, always lift it’s powerful voice and roaring against the plans and purposes of God concerning you, to steal, kill, destroy and wipe them away. This he will very comfortably do except there’s an intervention. The intervention can only be from a mightier Source, the irresistibly powerful Lord, who’s robed in majesty and puts on strength as His belt. This intervention can only be by invitation, the invitation through intercession and petition from His house!

PRAYERS: Lord I’ll forever dwell in your house and experience your irresistible power. Intervene against every voice of the waters and flood against me and my loved ones today in Jesus name.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalms 23:4 ESV

http://bible.com/59/psa.23.4.ESV

Fear is an involuntary natural response to any threat of danger or loss. Our text reveals though fear is real, yet it can be conquered.

Beloved, fear is not really dependent on location, position, circumstance, or situation, but on companion. The Psalmist said, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death that’s naturally terrifying and threatening, I won’t be afraid because of my Companion – The Lord my Shepherd! When the Lord is with you as your Shepherd, fear will be overcome as every threat and danger becomes impotent, toothless and powerless because His rod will always correct and keep you in the right track as well as defend you!

PRAYERS: Dear Lord, because You’re with me, I refuse to be afraid no matter the circumstance or situation I face! Always correct and defend me with your rod in Jesus name

“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple. Luke 14:26 ESV

http://bible.com/59/luk.14.26.ESV

The gospel which is good news and hate which is bad news have nothing in common. Our text however reveals the two are inseparable.

Beloved, life always offers us options which are intricately interwoven, therefore choosing and loving one, equals hating the other. When life and family, the dearest and loveliest possessions on earth occurs with Jesus, and a choice must be made, family and even your life must be hated and Jesus loved because nothing can be compared to Him. If you cannot sacrifice and give away everything you’ve for Jesus, then you don’t know and love Him, talk much more of being His disciple!

PRAYERS: Dear Lord may, my choices in life, always prove that I love nothing else on earth more than You in Jesus name.

But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. Please have me excused.’ Luke 14:18 ESV

http://bible.com/59/luk.14.18.ESV

Excuses are apologies made to justify, grant exemption or release to and remove blame from. Our text reveals attempts at this.

Beloved, all the guests had no excuse, yet they came up with one, because whatever you want to justify or receive release to, the devil will always help you find excuses for. He’s a specialist in helping you find all sorts of unreasonable excuses
you need to shirk and shift responsibilities, indulge in all forms of sin, faithlessness and unfaithfulness to God, and others. This he has used and continues to use to ruin humanity. Note, excuses never really leave the work of the Lord undone, as He’ll always get a replacement for you, but it rather places you out of blessing pathway. What excuses are you packaging or have packed in conjunction with the devil for today? Won’t you have a rethink?

PRAYERS: Lord, I reject every satanic excuse for sin, faithlessness, unfaithfulness and shirking of responsibilities. I resolve to always be faithful in all my dealings in Jesus name!

When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your disability.” Luke 13:12 ESV

http://bible.com/59/luk.13.12.ESV

A disability is any condition such as injury, sin or sickness that disables, disqualifies, limits or restricts your ability. Our text reveals Jesus’ desire!

Beloved, Jesus’ desire is always to free you from whatever bondage, disability, limitation, weight and yoke you have, that makes you bend over. You must hear, answer His call and come to Him, to experience this freedom from your disability. Certain disabilities demand a single barrel attack – just speaking, whereas others require a double barrel attack, both speaking and touching to be overcome. Whichever your disability demands, He knows; You only have to be obedient to Him to experience freedom. You can only obey and come to Him when you believe and trust in His ability over your disability. Believe Him today and experience your freedom because His ability is sufficient for all your disabilities!

PRAYERS: O Lord, as I obey Your call to come to You, trusting in your ability, I hand over all my disabilities to You. I receive freedom from every bondage, chain, disability, limitation and weight in my life in Jesus name!

I waited patiently for the Lord ; He inclined to me and heard my cry. Psalms 40:1 ESV

http://bible.com/59/psa.40.1.ESV

Faith incubates and breeds through time. Our text reveals faith is sustained and translates to manifestation by patience.

Beloved, crying to the Lord, His hearing and your salvation experience is the product of faith. However, there’s a gap between your crying to the Lord and your salvation which can only be filled by the faith booster called patience. Faith breeds and thrives only on the environment of patience which is a product of the Word and it’s absence spells stagnation, as God is not pleased and nothing gets done. There will always be the pit of destruction and muddy places around you, which only God can keep your feet from slipping into. This He will only do within the environment of faith which only patience sustains!
