And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And after that no one dared to ask him any more questions. Mark 12:34 ESV

Being not far means being very close, almost there, and right on the border. Our text reveals this doesn’t guarantee entrance.

Beloved, being very close is an advantage of some sort, as it brings some privileged knowledge and opportunities. However it can be very frustrating, saddening and painfully hurting, as you’ll not only see but also know what you’re meant to have and enjoy, the protection, promotions, peace and privileges, but cannot access them because you’re outside. You cannot become a citizen by staying at the border, citizenship is for those inside and Kingdom privileges are marked: FOR CITIZENS ONLY. Entrance isn’t through insight and knowledge, though useful, but through a personal choice of association and connection with Jesus. Now is your time for a change of position and possession.

Grace upon grace!

PRAYER: Oh God, I choose not only to be near or very close, know and see my Kingdom privileges and possessions. I rather choose to sacrificially associate and connect with, as well as remain obedient to Jesus and take possession of all my Kingdom privileges.
