Nicodemus went with Joseph. He was the man who had come to Jesus before and talked to him at night. He brought about 100 pounds of spices—a mixture of myrrh and aloes. John 19:39 ERV

Usefulness is very often erroneously qualified with prominence. Our text reveals this is not always the truth.

Beloved, prominence and pronouncement are good, as well as useful, but they don’t necessarily define usefulness. All very vital organs of the body aren’t pronounced or prominent, similarly most important and useful persons in history aren’t. Such persons usually operate from behind the screen and are seen sparingly at very crucial moments. The prophecy of the burial of Jesus was fulfilled by non pronounced and prominent but unknown, therefore seemingly useless disciples. It doesn’t matter who you are or what prominent position you have, you don’t really need pronounced position, neither do you need to be made known, as long as you’re faithful in your little corner, you’re very useful to Jesus!

Grace upon grace!

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, may I not seek prominence but always be found faithful in my little corner with whatever is entrusted unto me
