So there was great joy in that city. Acts 8:8 HCSB

https://bible.com/bible/72/act.8.8.HCSB

Great joy is an extreme happiness and rejoicing. Our text reveals this as a by product of the gospel.

Beloved, whenever and wherever the gospel is preached and received, revelation is caught. Whenever revelation is caught, knowledge is gained; Whenever knowledge is gained, faith is produced. Whenever faith is produced, burdens are lifted, shackles are broken and sicknesses are healed. Whenever and wherever shackles are broken, limitations are exceeded and extreme joy is unleashed. The gospel is a product of great sacrifice and it takes great sacrifice to preach and believe it. Ever desiring and wanting to experience extreme joy in and around your life, then preach and believe the gospel whatever it’ll cost you!

For this is what the promise said: “About this time next year I will return, and Sarah shall have a son.” Romans 9:9 ESV

https://bible.com/bible/59/rom.9.9.ESV

A promise is a word of certainty concerning what is yet to happen. Our text reveals certain promises can be very complex.

Beloved, God’s spectacular promises usually occur in complex circumstances. The more complex a situation is, the spectacular His promise. Every promise once made, definitely comes to pass but at an appointed time. Faith which is manifested through trust is the singular requirement for the fulfillment of God’s promises. There’s no distinction between complex and non complex issues, because complexities exist only in the eyes of men. His promises are Yes to whoever believes and no to whoever doesn’t. I bring you His promise today, about this time next year, whatever before now has been impossible in your life shall become a testimony!

PRAYER: Thank You Jesus for Your promise which never fails. I believe and receive it, while awaiting it’s manifestation

“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything. 1 Corinthians 6:12 ESV

https://bible.com/bible/59/1co.6.12.ESV

Lawful things are acceptable and permissible. Our text reveals they’re however not necessarily useful and fruitful.

Beloved, certain things in life though not sinful are useless and unfruitful because they don’t contribute to accomplishing the ultimate goal. The ultimate goal is that which the Lord wants you to accomplish which will earn you His certificate of approval, blessings and add to your eternal worth. The discovery of this path and plan brings better concentration and time management which leads to freedom from enslavement. This discovery is only possible through the Word, which draws the distinction between the lawful/acceptable and useful/fruitful. It’s time for an in-house cleansing; whatever doesn’t contribute to your eternal significance and value, isn’t worth your time!

The angel came to her and said, “Greetings! The Lord is with you; you are very special to him.” Luke 1:28 ERV

Special people are uncommon and extraordinary, therefore are highly valued. Our text reveals the reward of uncommonness.

Beloved, being very special means being uncommon, highly favored, truly and greatly blessed. There’s usually a point of attraction in a person to the Lord’s presence and favor which is called faith. A person’s level of commitment, dedication and devotion to God is a reflection and manifestation of his faith. Knowledge of your uniqueness and specialty is a necessity to experiencing the benefits and dividends of the privileged position. Commitment, dedication and devotion to God is measured and manifested by faith. Your faith defines your obedience to God, your obedience spells your specialty to Him and your specialty determines the degree of favor you’ll receive from Him.

…You will quickly disappear from the land you’re going to possess on the other side of the Jordan River. You won’t live very long there. You’ll be completely wiped out. Deuteronomy 4:26 GW

Warnings are expressions of love aimed at protecting, promoting and preserving life. Our text reveals the consequence of ignoring it.

Beloved, sin in all its forms, is a disobedience to an instruction and a disregarding of a warning. Disregarding of warning activates distraction, disaster, dispossession, disinheritance and destruction. No matter the degree and length of peace, preservation and prosperity a person or people enjoys, sin always punctuates, destroys and demolishes it. Whereas giving heed to a warning which eliminates sin, is the only means of continuing in protection, preservation, promotion, and prosperity. There’s nothing God has given which He doesn’t take away from the disobedient!

God is the judge. He decides who will be important. He lifts one person up and brings another down. Psalms 75:7 ERV

https://bible.com/bible/406/psa.75.7.ERV

Judgement is the decisions that determines events. Our text reveals the Lord’s judgment as the definer of life’s events.

Beloved, condemnation or acquittal, declaration of innocency or guilty, putting down or lifting up, making important or unimportant are all aspects and outcome of the Lord’s judgement. God’s judgements are the expression of His decisions, His decisions are the expression of His responses to human actions or inaction. Exaltation and lifting up comes only from God in response to your action and attitude to His laid down principles. Your actions and attitude are dependent on your understanding, your understanding depends on your knowledge, and your knowledge on inspiration and revelation. Are you looking for God’s approval and promotions in any area of your life, then give the right attitude to His principles!

PRAYER: O Lord my God, I choose obedience to Your principles and I receive Your approval, lifting up and promotions in Jesus name.

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. John 3:18 ESV

https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.3.18.ESV

Condemnation is the taking away of life, whereas salvation is the giving away of life. Our text reveals both are products of individual choice.

Beloved, the choice to believe in the person and work of Jesus causes Him to give away His life for you. On another vein, the choice not to believe in Him makes Him to take away His life from you. Whoever has Him has life and is saved, whoever doesn’t have Him doesn’t have life and is condemned. Whoever has His life experiences salvation in every area and in whatever challenge that comes his way, whereas whoever doesn’t have His life experiences condemnation and defeat. Your faith is the decisive and defining factor for your fate. Amazingly believing in the personality and work of Jesus isn’t a big deal!

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. Psalms 56:3 ESV

https://bible.com/bible/59/psa.56.3.ESV

Trust is one commodity the fearful doesn’t have. Our text reveals it as the remedy for fear.

Beloved, fear makes trust and faith inexistent and ineffective. Trust is the antidote that diffuses and makes fear inexistent and ineffective. Faith is a display of trust and belief that nothing can harm or deprive me. It’s the only channel of receiving from the Lord. It cannot coexist with fear as they are contradict the other. Fear is simply a lack of trust, and a display of negative faith, a faith that believes in being harmed. Both fear and faith [trust] are products of personal choice, as well as life’s denominator. At every given moment, you either have positive faith, trust or negative faith, fear. Your faith determines your fate. Ever desiring a life of abundance of everything God has for you, then overcome fear, which can only be done through trust!

PRAYER: Oh Lord my God, may I always trust in You, no matter what I see and how I feel, so I’ll always defeat fear and possess all you’ve for me

“And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord Your God, to walk in all His ways, to love Him, to serve the Lord Your God with all Your heart and with all Your soul, Deuteronomy 10:12 ESV

https://bible.com/bible/59/deu.10.12.ESV

The requirement is the one thing needful for a reward. Our text reveals God’s only requirement from humanity.

Beloved, the fear of the Lord’s requirement for His reward. This requirement is the reverential and respectful obedience of the Lord called the love. Whoever loves the Lord, does whatever He says, no matter how difficult and uncomfortable it be. Similarly, whoever does what the Lord says, God loves and does what he says too. Everything in heaven and on earth belong to the Lord and everything He owns He gives to everyone who meet His requirement. Invariably, everyone that meets God’s love requirement, gets his own love needs met by the Lord from His inexhaustible supply! Do you desire a life of abundance without any lack? Then meet God’s love demands and requirement!

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, teach and enable me to always be obedient to You, so I may qualify to receive and enjoy every good thing You’ve for me.

Nicodemus went with Joseph. He was the man who had come to Jesus before and talked to him at night. He brought about 100 pounds of spices—a mixture of myrrh and aloes. John 19:39 ERV

https://bible.com/bible/406/jhn.19.39.ERV

Usefulness is very often erroneously qualified with prominence. Our text reveals this is not always the truth.

Beloved, prominence and pronouncement are good, as well as useful, but they don’t necessarily define usefulness. All very vital organs of the body aren’t pronounced or prominent, similarly most important and useful persons in history aren’t. Such persons usually operate from behind the screen and are seen sparingly at very crucial moments. The prophecy of the burial of Jesus was fulfilled by non pronounced and prominent but unknown, therefore seemingly useless disciples. It doesn’t matter who you are or what prominent position you have, you don’t really need pronounced position, neither do you need to be made known, as long as you’re faithful in your little corner, you’re very useful to Jesus!
