Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41 ESV

Stumbling in faith is being shaken, failing in, falling out of, or loosing your faith. Our text reveals this as a result of negligence.

Beloved, stumbling in faith is a sordid state with a very grievous consequence, that comes through defeat in temptation. Shaken faith equals fallen faith, because it brings loss of grip, loss of grip equals porous security and porous security equals destruction. Opportunities for stumbling in faith comes to everyone, however what’s done with such opportunities is an individual choice. Victory in temptation is the only antidote to stumbling in faith, whereas effective fervent praying is the antidote to not falling in temptation, ask Jesus, Peter and the other apostles. Every stumbling in faith is the result of insensitivity, insensitivity the result of weakness of the flesh, and weakness of the flesh, the result of prayerlessness. Never want to stumble in faith? Be prayerful and obedient!
