Let my cry come before you, O Lord ; give me understanding according to your word! Let my plea come before you; deliver me according to your word. Psalms 119:169‭-‬170 ESV

A cry is an expression of an emptiness, whereas a plea is a very strong desire for filling an emptiness. Our text reveals both are hinged on the Word.

Beloved, crying and pleading are expressions of helplessness and a longing to be helped and saved. The salvation in question here is dependent on the Word of the Lord. An acknowledgement of your helplessness, God’s helpfulness, and a trust in His Word, gives rise to the cry and plea for wisdom and salvation, which comes only through the knowledge of His Word. Whoever knows the Word, knows His promise, whoever knows His promise is wise, whoever is wise, cries out to Him and pleads for the fulfillment of His promise in his life and whoever so does, is always saved. Ever in need of God’s salvation and help, just cry out and plea for it in accordance with His Word and it’ll be yours!
