Christ himself suffered when he died for you, and with that one death he paid for your sins. He was not guilty, but he died for people who are guilty. He did this to bring all of you to God. In his physical form he was killed, but he was made alive by the Spirit. 1 Peter 3:18 ERV

A debt until fully paid remains and freedom cannot be experienced. Our text reveals our debt has been fully paid.

Beloved, the debt of death incurred by sin was fully paid by the death of Jesus. When He announced it is finished from the cross, it was finished. Since Jesus died, you cannot die because of sin anymore; since your debt has been fully paid and you cannot die because of sin anymore, therefore neither can any consequence of sin in any form remain in your life. Everything you lost because of sin and separation from God has been restored because His death brought you back to and reconciled you with God. Whatever you don’t currently experience is because you’ve not placed a demand for, you’ve not reached out to take it. Always remember it’s finished, because your debt has fully been paid.

Jesus knew everything that was going to happen to Him. So He went to meet them and asked, “Who are you looking for?” They answered Him, “Jesus from Nazareth.” Jesus told them, “I am He.” Judas, who betrayed Him, was standing with the crowd. John 18:4‭-‬5 GW

It takes great boldness, courage and uncommon strength to identify oneself in the presence of danger. Our text reveals Jesus had this.

Beloved, when danger is involved, people naturally don’t want to identify themselves. The hiding of identity in face of danger is a normal security measure, which the fear of death, loss or torture naturally brings. This explains exactly why Peter denied Jesus. It takes an uncommon and supernatural strength to do the contrary, this Jesus did. His uncommon and supernatural strength is birthed in the place of prayers. Inability to pray robs of supernatural strength, lack of supernatural strength fills with fear of death and fear of death, leads to denying Jesus. Whoever denies Jesus, have lost everything significant in life, except he repents, because Jesus will also deny him. Whoever Jesus denies is doomed and lost forever! Whoever faces and bows before the Lord in prayer can effectively face and never bow before any other thing in life!

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, help me always face and bow before You in prayer, so I’ll be filled with and operate in supernatural strength and never bow before any other!

Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy. John 16:20 ESV

Gold is the most precious and valuable metal on earth. Our text reveals certain non precious and valuable things can be transformed.

Beloved, certain relationships are so valuable to us we never want to loose them, because losing them brings so much pain. However, no matter how well we try, they must someday be lost, but our attitude in face of such loss is the denominator. Jesus’ death was a great loss for the disciples as it implied loss of His physical presence, protection and provisions. They were however encouraged to transform their loss into an addition and advantage, through “anything you ask for in My name, the Father will give you”, because you believe in Me. Similarly, whatever you’ve lost, missed, or is causing pain in your life, can be turned into gold by asking the Father anything and you’ll receive it because you belong to Jesus.

PRAYERS: O Lord my God, thank you for the promise of giving me whatever that’s lacking in my life. I ask and receive whatever that’s causing me weeping and lamentation in Jesus name!

But if you are punished for doing wrong, there is no reason to praise you for bearing that punishment. But if you suffer for doing good and you are patient, this pleases God. 1 Peter 2:20 ERV

https://bible.com/bible/406/1pe.2.20.ERV

Punishment is usually the corrective penalty for disobedience. Our text reveals it can also be a price of obedience.

Beloved, not living for what is wrong but what is right, which God wants can provoke punishment. This punishment can either be verbal, physical or both. Whatever the form, patiently taking it is never a small feat or an easy task, but it’s always pleasing to God and provokes His praises. Jesus set the pace and left the pattern and called you into doing same and walking in His footsteps. Pilate said I find nothing wrong with Him, Herod couldn’t find Him guilty either, yet He was punished and He took it patiently, so He could give you an example to follow. The degree of indignity, insult, and injustice you’re ready to endure for Jesus, equals the degree of praises emanating from you to Him!

PRAYERS: Dear Lord, may I never consider any price too costly to pay in obedience to You, and may I learn to endure whatever I experience and let you take care of me in Jesus name

But the world must know that I love the Father. So I do exactly what the Father told me to do. “Come now, let’s go.” John 14:31 ERV

Love isn’t love until proven. However, love cannot be proven except it’s expressed. Our text reveals this.

Beloved, the expression of love must be done with/through a language. There are 5 ways of expressing/proving love, which is also called the 5 languages of love, obedience is the only attitude that’s bilingual –giving of gifts, and act of service. When you’re obedient, you’re giving a gift, as well as rendering an act of service to the one you’re obeying. Little wonder Jesus chose obedience as the only proof/expression/language of love God understands. Knowing the command is a prerequisite for obeying it, while obeying the command is the only proof of loving Him and guarantee for receiving His love. When our love is proven through obedience, He proves His through companionship or quality time. Whoever He’s with, absolutely lacks nothing good, everything is available simply by asking!

SONG: Love Divine All Loves excelling… SS&S 242; A&M 205

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I choose to always be obedient to You at all cost, that the world may have a taste of my love to You, and Yours for me in Jesus name!

But some were expressing indignation to one another: “Why has this fragrant oil been wasted? Mark 14:4 HCSB

https://bible.com/bible/72/mrk.14.4.HCSB

Indignation is simply getting angry and upset. Our text reveals it usually leads to much criticism and condemnation.

Beloved, getting angry and upset depends on understanding, understanding on interpretation and interpretation on information. The same act that provoked the indignation and severe criticism of the disciples, earned the appreciation, condemnation and defence of Jesus. Until you’re led by the Holy Spirit you’ll never be compassionate. If you’re not compassionate, you’ll never interpret and understand the action of others correctly. Lack of understanding spells wrong assessment and opinion. Wrong assessment and opinion leads to being angry and upset! Ever desiring to overcome anger, complaint and criticism, be led by the Spirit!

He said, “Go into the town you can see there. When you enter the town, you will find a young donkey tied there that no one has ever ridden. Untie it, and bring it here to me. Luke 19:30 ERV

Every prophecy or divine promise is hinged on obedience. Our text reveals this in Jesus’ life.

Beloved, the fulfillment of prophecies and promises are dependent on both constant external and variable internal factors. Once you hear and obey the Lord, He’ll make all the external forces to fall into shape. The disciples found the young donkey because they obeyed the “foolish” instruction “go”. Whatever that’s missing in your life and whatever that’s needed for you to experience a fulfilled destiny, has already been provided by the Lord, and awaiting your possession. Whoever hears and obeys the command “go”, finds and never lives in lack or regret of any sort!

“Don’t say in your heart, ‘These nations are stronger than we are. How can we force them out?’ Deuteronomy 7:17 ERV

Your heart determines your experience. Our text reveals victory and defeat stems from it.

Beloved, believing brings salvation, but salvation is only possible through what is heard. What is heard can only be believed with the heart. Whatever the heart believes or not believe, equals what the mouth will say or not say. Whatever your mouth says, equals what your individual life will experience. Whatever the mouth says must be dependent on and in sync with the Word to be experienced. Do you desire excellence and victory in life? Then with your heart, believe and your mouth, confess whatever the Word says irrespective of your circumstances, experiences and evidences!

The User’s Manual says marriage must be taught, modernity says it mustn’t. Our text reveals how the teaching is to be done.

Beloved, the act of marriage must be learnt through discipleship, though modernity says it mustn’t because you don’t have need of any discipleship, moreover what’s being taught is obsolete. The Manual says, there’s a lot to be accomplished, therefore you must be schooled, else you’ll make a wreck of yourself and others. It further says the wife must be a Consultant Child Psychologist, a Home Engineering/Management Specialist — a homemaker working fulltime at home and making the husband, herself, children and everyone else to blend into a home, thereby fulfilling destinies. Modernity however says, more money must be made, because bills keeps increasing and must be paid, the wife must be liberated and become a chief executive, or professional abandoning the home to maids, because homemaking is out of sync with present reality and obsolete. Are you ready to do marriage the User’s Manual way or modernity’s way?

Christianity is the way of Christ, whereas modernity is the way of the contemporary society. Our text reveals a great world of difference between the two.

Beloved, modernity is a gangrene that have eaten very deep into the marrow of the society. It’s everything but Christian. It has a very strong followership that any attempt to flow against it, is viewed as being obsolete, strange, must be resisted and met with very stiff opposition. It has made homemaking very strange, rare and almost an impossibility. This must however be taught and encouraged, because every wise woman must build her home! A home is made up of husband, wife, and others [children, helpers, etc]. Homemaking is therefore the making of the family members into what God wants them to be. Are you a homemaker, are you building your home or tearing it?
