He turns rivers into a desert, springs of water into thirsty ground, a fruitful land into a salty waste, because of the evil of its inhabitants. Psalms 107:33‭-‬34 ESV

Rivers and deserts are opposite extremes beyond human control, therefore regarded as unchanging. Our text reveals they’re however not unchanging in the hands of the Unchanging God.

Beloved, nothing is really unchangeable to God. He turns rivers to a desert, a desert to a pool of waters, similarly springs into thirsty ground, thirsty ground into springs and fruitful land to an unproductive dirt, all because of the inhabitants. Invariably whatever God does, is a direct response to what men do. Where you’re located or what you have is insignificant, whether rivers or a desert, fruitful land or unproductive wasteland. What’s important is your relationship with the Lord. How obedient and pleasing your ways are to Him, determines what He’ll do concerning you! You’re the engineer of your destiny, how are you building?

Grace upon grace!
