One time when Jesus was eating with them, he told them not to leave Jerusalem. He said, “Wait here until you receive what the Father promised to send. Remember, I told you about it before. Acts 1:4 ERV http://bible.com/406/act.1.4.ERV

Waiting is a period of physical pause and remaining stationary in anticipation. Our text reveals this as a key to reception and advancement.

Beloved, waiting is an unappealing but unavoidable principle of living. Everything on earth experiences a period of pause to draw strength for advancing to the next phase. The disciples though used to being on the move, surprisingly were instructed to pause movements and remain in Jerusalem. Their obedience brought the power that transformed them and made life far easier. There’s a “Jerusalem” you must wait in before your next phase. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve waited, just keep waiting. God will sure make all things possible and beautiful in His time. Remember unless you learn the discipline of waiting, you’ll always abort His plans for your life.

Grace upon grace!
