and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. Romans 6:18 ESV

Slavery though generally unacceptable, leaves the slave with no choice than to continue in slavery until freedom is bought. Our text reveals Christians as perpetual slaves.
Beloved, Jesus through His death, paid the price and freed you from slavery to sin and death when you believed in Him. This freedom however turned you into another slave, the slave of righteousness and life. Since a slave cannot help but be obedient to his master, therefore you cannot help but live in righteousness and holiness like Jesus, except you’re not His slave. Your actions declare whose slave you’re. Whose slave does the things you think, say and do pronounce you?
Grace upon grace!
