“Then at last the Lord said to me, ‘You have been wandering around in this hill country long enough; turn to the north. Deuteronomy 2:2‭-‬3 NLT

A rigmarole is an annoying, complex, complicated, confusing, unnecessary and wasteful long process or description. A wandering around without any progress.
Our text reveals the Jews not only fell into this trap but remained in it for thirty-eight  wasted years, because of the sin of unbelief! At Kardesh Barnea Moses told them “Look, there it is! Go up and take the land for your own. The Lord, the God of your ancestors, told you to do this, so don’t be afraid or worry about anything”(1:21), but they refused and came up with the idea of sending out spies, which he obliged them. This magnified their unbelief and rebellion which led to the sentence that led to their rigmarole. However, when the judgment was executed, the Lord had pity on them and decided to end their rigmarole with our text, “You have traveled around these mountains long enough. Turn north”. Notice that until the sentence was served, the Lord never spoke to them. Similarly until the Lord spoke to them they never made any progress.
Beloved, this command was heard very loud and clear concerning somebody while in a prayer session yesterday: You’ve wandered around this level and position long enough. It was and still is your fear, unbelief and rebellion that kept you where you are and prevented you from entering into your Promised Land to possess what you have been desiring and longing for that’s already yours. Enough of this merry-go-round, I’m giving you another opportunity, get moving and cross over to possess! Like every promise of the Lord it applies to all who will believe it. Be it sin, sickness or whatever situation that has kept you wandering without progress, the Lord is saying its time to rise and overcome it, it’s time to have that which had hitherto eluded you!
Grace upon grace!
